Oh, Eyes of night, flow into the dawn , . . . her face the darkness carries forth, opening wide the journey, again and again, our story begins. This community circle and class is designed to introduce the many ways to gain insight into archetypal patterns- through dreams, poetic reverie and practice. It is not so much about analyzing the specifics of the night dream but intimations in regard to the quality and significance of dreaming, of which the night dream is a part. We will recite poems and stories from various individuals and traditions based on particular archetypal patterns. Participants will be encouraged to write and share their own stories, evoked by images, learning, practice, and both our day and night dreams.
Details:
- This class is capped at 15 people. In person (Dirt Zendo) participation is strongly encouraged if you have the option, but both Dirt Zendo and Cloud Zendo participation is accepted
- Registration is required– please complete the form below.
- It is suggested that people bring a day or night dream that feels significant to the first class. I provide a small journal and pen for in-person participants.
- If you have any questions please email Shinei.
- Sunday Talk – All are welcome. About the talk:
- The dream before reality, the nightmare before tragedy, fright before the monster, nausea before the fall. The world is a dream, imagined. The power of the archetype is numinous, suggestive; it hints, and alludes yet, can never be thoroughly known. Archetypes lift us out of the limited space of brute, merely personal reality, encouraging the difficult inner work, encouraging a renewed relationship with the 10,000 beautiful things and,. . . to bring great happiness.
