Tuesday Evening Zazen and Study
Tuesday evenings are led by Domyo Burk. Similar to Thursdays, we meet for zazen (seated meditation), study and community. We begin the evening with a short recitation of a Zen teaching (click here to read the things we recite), and then sit two periods of zazen with ten minutes of walking meditation in between. At 8pm we break for tea and cookies, and at 8:15 we return to the Zendo for study and discussion (see below). For a general description of our meetings, click here. All are welcome!
On Tuesday evenings Domyo presents a teaching or we read aloud from a book we are studying and then discuss it. It isn’t necessary to have the book or read ahead of time. Click here to see a schedule of our upcoming Tuesday evening study topics.
Learn the Basics
You don’t need to know anything about Zen in order to participate in Tuesday study, but if you’d like to know more about Zen teachings and practice, you might want to check out Domyo’s book, Zen Living. Copies are available for purchase at Bright Way as well as on Amazon and at local bookstores.
